Hello, Today I will share my opinion about Serverloft. I paid my last invoice, payment has been made but they didnt process transaction on their side. I sent several emails, "please process the payment" but they didnt answer me and continue to sending invoice reminder emails to me. Today, they are blocked one of my servers. I call them and customer support said: Please call monday! My server will be offline until monday He said, no one can help me. Wow, I havent seen bad customer support like Serverloft.
A quick check on the internet seems to suggest that this is normal. Then again, you can never expect miracles or great support from a super-budget host so you have to take some responsibility for your choice. At the prices they charge they can't possibly make the margins needed to provide good customer service.
serverloft is an affordable option but I have heard a lot of bad reviews. I would prefer hetzner if you are looking for a low budget solution.
There's a lot of posts on the internet about poor support from them, so not getting good service shouldn't come as a total shock. They're operating from a country - Germany - with one of the most expensive employee costs imaginable and where employment law is strongly employee orientated. They might supply their servers cheaply, but you can't expect stellar customer service because that requires real people, and real people are expensive. As I said earlier, with the prices they charge there isn't much margin for them so something has to give, and that will be the thing that costs the most - people. These cheap companies haven't found a new or different way to provide their services. They don't exist in a different economic climate from other server suppliers, and they don't have some voodoo-based method of providing their services in an economic vacuum. It's true that you don't always get good service when you pay more, but you can NEVER get good people-orientated services alongside poor-margin cheap prices delivered from high-cost locations.
They have connected the server again, solved the problem. Transaction has been processed after 2 phone calls, ~10 emails, I recommend to use phone support, if you are Serverloft customer. Their email support is poor but phone support is good.
Good to know that your issue has been resolved, keep the thread updated with your experience with them.
sadbuttrue, what's your experience with Serverloft servers? Are you satisfied with the speed of servers, connections, to handle heavy load?
I'm serverloft.com client since 2008. Over the years spent more than $5,000 USD for their services. Experiencing a different problems - dead PSUs; motherboard replacenet; disk replacement; server replacement. The last 2 years i'm using the VPS with 12GB of memory (44 euros a month - price as iron server OVH, Hetnzner etc.). Tentatively on February 12, some idiot from the support, changed VPS limits so that now makes shmpages 289562 - about 1GB instead of 12GB. Today 18 February and the problem is not solved. Arguments brought them prove incorrect VPS configuration, but they just do not understand OpenVZ (Virtuozzo) documentation. The server does not operate correctly. Tens of thousands of visitors are lost. Lost profits are difficult to quantify. I had to configure the services as if I have 512MB of memory but not 12228Mb. Conclusion: do not work with serverloft and their brands: serverloft.com (serverloft.de) server4you.net (server4you.com) plusserver.com (plusserver.de) They have a common support. In support staff remains only idiots who break anything, that worked fine before.
