Can anyone give me some advice.

We recently purchased a domain from sedo.
The domain was ranking well, but after we changed the server over
it was down for several days.

As of last week our home page has been removed from Googles index.

site:mysite.co.uk - returns only old subpages from the old website and also an old cached www.mysite.co.uk/index.php

So now our homepage only appears in the google index with /index.php
and it's not been crawled since October 18th and showing the older version of the website before we purchased the domain.

How can we get our new version of the site re-indexed by google?

    Hi,

It's not a new site it's 5yrs old, but we recently purchased the domain and changed it over to our servers and new website.

Since the server change over (site was down several days) the homepage has been removed from google.

So I take it you have done a 301 from the old domain to the new one?
If so, then the homepage should have been reindexed by now. is the new URL a brand new one (as in never registered before)?

If the domain is an expired one and has been used in the past, there is a chance that it may have a penalty of some sort..

You could try requesting a reconsideration in WMT's and see if that helps. (just explain to them you purchased a new URL that you can't get indexed and you think may have a penalty)

    Hope that helps

    Cheers
    James

My point is that since the domain recently got changed new owner/ new content then suggest you do this to bring it back
into the index (you will still have to build back-links regardless..) ;)

    thx

Try using the webmasters tool from Google. Find all your old backlinks and try to get new ones. This happens all the time. This is why I always keep a backup server.

Sounds like a headache! I'm sorry to hear!
    Did you make any headway?
Can the staff at the old and new server help?
