I'm not an expert on video editing nor Flash, so apologies in advance if I get any terminology wrong here. I have a client who wants a content management system that allows him to upload videos to his site. I've developed this and it all works fine, except the videos are simply embedded WMVs which take ages to load and do not have any intuitive loading bar/icon that most Flash videos seem to have. What I need is to be able to convert these WMVs into Flash (possibly using public domain or otherwise free code that creates the message/graphic that states the video is loading). There seems to be lots of desktop software that will do this, but I need something that will do this server-side. Is there any software that will run on LAMP that could meet such a need? Free would be a bonus, but I'd be prepared to pay a reasonable amount for a license if such an application exists.
