i have a dedicated server with celeron, 1G RAM running with cpanel. When i issued top command it says only 170Mb of RAM left? Well you need to keep in mind linux does cache ram. So a better way to see it would probably be free -m as I doubt you're reading the memory readings properly from top.
Right...and even idling apache etc processes also hold up much RAM. Don't panic unless you see swapping often.
