server load?

i host 3 sites all on a shared server with bluehost.

All the 3 sites combined gets 20k unique visitors monthly and growing. Of course mysites does not involve any video or downloads. All simple sites using light weight php and mysql

i am worried because in my cpanel the server load shows 22/4 cpu's.
should i panic? do i need to move to vps or dedicated plan?

Any inputs could be more than helpful

 

Have you asked BlueHost if you are close to cpu limits?

 

So that's around 200 hits per day and per site?, i think that you should go fine with a good shared hosting, i haven't tried bluehost so i can't opine, maybe you need a better host.

 

I would move off a VPS or shared system and go with a dedicated box.

They are cheap.

That is a silly load averge. 22 out of 4 CPU = 5 odd

I would get a VPS - i bought one for my low end traffic sites. So far, so good.

 

Is performance suffering? The load average tries to measure the number of active processes at any time -- a rudimentary measure of CPU utilization, but if performance is fine, don't worry about it.

 

Yes...and load avg also differs by OS build and version.
