I currently have a reseller acounts and I am having some problems. I am currently hosting 2 wordpress blogs, 1 simple ecommerce site, my hosting account and a simple 3 page html website.

Recently one of the accounts was suspended by my provider. When I managed to talk with them I was told it was because the account had gone over 21% server load. They said this is due to plugins?

I had been hosting these same sites with another hoster and had never had these problems. I have suspended the problem account myself as when I checked a few moments ago it had a sever load of 34%

    Server load is now showing:

    cpsrvd up
    httpd (2.0.63) up
    imap up
    named (9.3.4-P1) up
    Server Load 1.64 (4 cpus)
    Memory Used 18.1 %
    Swap Used 0.00 %
    Disk /dev/simfs (/) 64 %

Can someone give me some advice as to what is going on and how I can address the issue of high server load?

    options:
    1. Client may need to optimize his site.
    2. Find a new host, one that allows more burst time and is configured better. I currently use SolidNode.com and they let you burst with much more CPU then common hosts.

See which process is causing the server load.

Sometimes if your website is hacked. The hackers plant a script which runs in the backround thus increasing the load.

How can I see which process is causing the load?

As far as the script is concerned do I need to search the directories for something that shouldn't be there?

Yes, sometime wordpress may use high CPU due to some plugin. Try wordpress cache plugin and see it it helps or not. Also remove unwanted wordpress plugins.
