Hi, I'm a noob to the world of servers. My server clashed out the other day and has only just been rebooted. Everything seems to be working fine apart from my SQL databases.

They are still there when I checked in cPanel but I'm getting this error on one of my websites:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (111) in /home/wwwfabh/public_html/scottfu/includes/dbconnect.php on line 8
    Error connecting to mysql

I'm thinking maybe I need to activate the databses or something?

Could anyone let me know what I need to do please.

    Regards,

    Scott.

If you have whm root access, goto services and restart/start the mysql service.

Thanks I sorted it... Restarted all services but it still didn't work, so I added a new user to the database and all works fine.

    Thanks again,

    Scott.

Yes they were different for some reason. As soon as I set a new user to the databases it all worked fine.
