hello guys n gals am having some issues with my server it crashes under heavy loads. seems like its caused by mysql i tried tweaking but i dont think i did it properly just wanted to know from the experts what i can do to get it right * OS: Linux CentOS * CPU: Intel Pentium 4 - 3.0 GHz * RAM: 2 GB * Bandwidth: 500 GB per month if any body has a good tweak for server like this please let me kno thanks alot
Tweaking a server is different for each and every one, as the sites and software on each server will vary is resource usages. You should read through this post I did last year regarding MySQL tuning: http://solidservers.ca/2009/07/tuning-tweaking-mysql/ It could be multiple other things that are causing the loads to spike as well. Have you monitored your top command while the loads are spiking? Chris
There are different things in sql query which can overload the server, when they run, so you may want check what is causing load, and than optimize server, or may want to check with some good tech who can optimize it for you
