    Hi guys

Hope you are all well, Ive just managed to get my hands on a cloud server which is pretty good as you can change hte config online lol !

I was going to move 2 of my sites onto this server a .co.uk and a com site.

I have discovered the ip address of the server is german, I just wondered if people think this is something I should be worried about ?

Would the search engines look at my domains over the ip address of the server in the google serps for example ?

I have looked around and cant find any difinitive answers to this question

    Any help appreciated

    Woc

Local sites are usually perform a little better, though it is not the issue where is YOUR site located. It is the issue where are sites that LINK TO YOU located. If you manage to gain many uk and us links, you may host your site even in Bangladesh :)

I think the location matters but not terribly. It will help with local sales though if the IP corresponds to the country being targeted.

Most people would say host in the US to target the US, UK for UK, etc.

Not sure how much emphasis on location there really is. You'd need to test both options out to find out for sure I reckon.

Thanks for the advice, you can of course tell google where your site is geographically aimed on google webmaster tools anyhow, I was very worried at first, but ive got a good server so I think my fears have eased a little now.

I don't think it will create much problem but the thing which you need to know is whether or not that server is banned or have some sites hosted which are illegal or porn.

Other than that there will not be any problem.
