Did anyone have an experience where the server being down for 1-2 days drastically affected Google rankings? If "yes" did you ever recover? (how best to recover from this and how long it would take?
Thank you for your time and sharing this info.

I was down for about 1.5 months and it didn't affect me at all. I assume if the server that holds your domain and DNS is down I figure it would be affected then. But then again that is just an assumption of mine.

If your server is down for sometime your site can become de-indexed which is bad. Then it would take the normal amount of time to get indexed again. (all depends on your content and backlinks)

Sure. Google and rest of search engines wants to offer good results to their users and if a site is down for a while they know that.

If the downtime is long or intermitent Search Engines mark the domain or website as "not trustable at all" and that's bad.

But, i think this point has very lower value through all the algor.

    greets!

I had a server crash which caused a complete data loss. I forwarded the traffic off to another site for a few months and noticed I was still getting hits for search terms for the dead site. I recreated the dead sites and was right back where I was in no time.

Google seems to be very slow at deindexing sites.

i dont think a down time of 1-2 days would do much harm.
as i have experienced many a times, when my sites were down for mor than 2 days. and nothing went wrong.
but if down for long as others said, like more than a month then it will be deindexed. but it is always recommended that if you can avoide down time. if it is a case of some upgradation or changing hosting. then its better to keep the old one live, while you take care of a new version.
and if accident than what good we can do??:)

In my experience, downtime of 24 to 48 hours of downtime have zero to very less effect. If there is any effect, it is just short time.
