    It's basically how you're ranking in search engines, i.e, You're the fourth result for the keyword "car".

    It simply means search engine results page, ie the listing of webpages returned by search engines like google, yahoo, bing in response to a keyword query or search

    Serps is the advanced stage of herpes :) lol, sorry ;)

    The wikipedia page can explain it better than i can, once you have read the wikipedia info, its good to understand that serps can and will change, for some odd reason a lot of webmasters expect their rankings for keywords to stay in place once they get into a nice position, strange isn't it? That they would think that way, when clearly they have to gradually climb up the ranks in the first place to get there.
