SERPS vs PR? Which one you prefer? I will gladly prefer SERPS against PR because quality traffic is so important to me than anything else? Does anybody disagree?
IMO PR is only important if you want to sell links, so I say I prefer SERPS. PR does nothing for me unless I want money, but that seems hard now a days to sell links on a PR site that doesn't have high PR, such as 5 or higher.
SERPS are more important if you're making money from page views, but PR is more important if you're making money from selling links. More important than either are items like profit, revenue, conversions, page views, clicks, etc...
Both are important. If your SERP is good and you have pr 0 then nothing's gonna work. So i think both are important
what do you mean nothing is gonna work? That makes no sense. With good SERPs , PR0, I can still make sales lol...
The only way your Page Rank would/should effect sales is if it is SEO related, as it's the SEOer that generally notices that little green bar. I'm a member of several (non-webmaster/SEO) forums and the better majority of people out there have never even heard of Page-Rank or even care. Most of the people outside of Digital Point that I talk to think that Google ranks their pages by how deep they are listed in SERP...the closer to "feeling lucky" the more reputable the site. As sad as that is, that's how it is...
Why would it? People find your site by SERPs, not by PR. As Qryztufre said, most people don't even know and don't care what PR is. So why would it increase sales? Sites with higer PR might rank better in SERPs because they have more backlinks (and hence higher PR) but I see no direct connection between sales and PR
PageRank is extremely over analyzed in the SEO industry. The only reason people care about PR is to boast. As stated above, PR only makes you money if you’re selling links. Even media advertisers don’t care about PR, they just want to see quality traffic. On the flip side you could say top rankings go hand in hand with high PR, but I have seen plenty PR2 sites ranking on page one for highly competitive terms. Being ranked well in the SERPs can deliver large amounts of targeted traffic. So the answer is dependant on how you’re generating revenue. For the majority of websites, revenue is generated by traffic converting into leads, sales and advertiser clicks.
PR has nothing to do with SERPS and neither it can bias ranking of webpages. A site with PR0 can easily outperform a PR6 webpage in search rankings for a particular query. This is my understanding. quality traffic leads to more sales conversions which means more $$$. You dont need to worry about PR as long as you make more $$$$$$.
OMG guys! SEO involves improving SERPs. One of the major aspects is link development. When you start developing links PR of your website goes up. Therefore SERPs brings you traffic. PR itself does not do anything for you but sell links.
When my seo got a client to the number one position for his keyword and his site was pr zero that client didnt seem to mind at all hehehehe. Traffic is king and u get the best traffic from serps first. Everything else is lower on the totem pole.
Ranking means traffic and traffic means money. PR is just a side effect. If you have a good ranking, especially for competitive terms, it means that you must have a certainly quality and quantity of links poiting to your site, which will give you PR as well.
Some people take the side, and I think it's very extreme. SERP and PR, Google owns both. So, it's kind of funny to me when someone ignores one of them. PR is not a strong factor any more to influence directly in the SERP, but if you build links right, it's always better to get links from high PR site/page. If everything else (on-page SEO) is the same, would you still prefer PR0 site over PR6?
