SERPs update - how often?

I've built some links. Some with high PR. But I don't see any ups or downs in Google's results. Passed about a month and I'm still in the same place. Even I've build ~200 one-way links with targeted keywords.

    How much should I wait?
How much do you wait? How many links do you need to move your site up faster?

    Thanks!

Maybe your niche is extremely competitive and you do not have enough backlinks pointing to your domain to improve your serp. I think you should continue to build backlinks, building backlinks should be an ongoing process.

I've seen daily fluctuations (sometimes through the course of the day) , you might investigate the number of backlinks for some of the competing sites in google/yahoo just to see what kind of inbound links they have.

Age of domain could be the one factor in it.
as it become more older you will automatically get higher rankings.
Try to make your back links with proper Anchor text.

As many have mentioned here, SERPs are updated very frequently.

How quickly -your site- moves up SERPs is a very different question. And I think that was the focus of your question.

There are many factors that impact your sites ability to move up SERPs. For example, if your site is a brand new site, it will often take a while before Google "trusts" your site enough to move you up in the SERPs. However, if your content and pages are sitting on an old, trusted domain, and you build good backlinks to the site - you tend to move up fairly quickly (subject to how competitive the keyword is).

    Best,
    Sam

    "Some with high PR"

    How high?

    "200 one-way links"

I think you need to build a little more than 200 links.

My website is 6 months old. Anchor text is good, contains just the right keywords. I have a total of 14000 backlinks in Google Webmasters Tools and I'm on 50th place for my keywords, from 5 million results.

But I'm 50th for about a month, even I made about 200 PR 2-3-4 backlinks since then.

It'll take a more detailed review to really figure out what's going on.

What are your target keywords? How competitive are they?

What are the anchor text being used in your backlinks?

    etc.

    Sam

Safe time for your site SERP good results would be 3-6 months depending on the quality of your backlinks.
