I am not sure what category this should be in so I picked the most appropriate category from my point of view. It is my understanding that blogs do better in search engine results pages than websites because they are updated more often . Considering this might be true for websites then adding more articles and other content should get more traffic because my website to get higher ranking on my keywords as because I frequently at content. If that is true how do search engines know my site has been updated and can someone clarify how frequently added content means more traffic. All content is written by me 0r my witter ghoast writing for rme
search engines regularly send robots to crawl the website and the robots crawl and indexed the pages of those website. suppose the Googlebot came to your website yesterday and it has come today also then it will compare the content of your website with the copy in its index. if the content is not same it will crawl and index it and if the content is same it will go away. adding content frequently on your website depends on the segment you are targeting or your business. if you have a news website then update can occur many times in a single day, if you own a blog then updating the content 2-3 times in a week is enough. some webmasters update their blog almost everyday too. but updating the content on your website doesn't guarantee the traffic. visitors will come to your website only if you are giving something good or which adds value to their knowledge base
