SERPS? How do I check my position

Discussion in 'SEO' started by yellowfox, Jan 9, 2008.

    Hello everyone,

When I search for main keyword relative to my site, I cannot find my site, though I know its been indexed. ( 40K pages indexed in google)

Site has been running for 3 years,
    Is PR3
    Has link in DMOZ.....

yet sites with zero traffic are ahead of me in SERPS...

wondering what the problem could be and how I find out exactly what postition my site is placed at?

    Many thanks
    :)

Thanks Malcolm1... My site doesnt come up in that URL.

Far as SERPS go.... for even my own site name, dead sites rank higher...

For the main key word, Im nowhere to be found... new sites and dead sites are though....

does anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Your backlinks may not have those keywords in the anchor text, you may not have relevant keywords in your content, you may not have meta tags, theres a range of factors. Maybe give us a link to your website and we may be of more use :)

I guess it is simple, you did not make any SEO or did it not so much as those "dead" sites.

Why then would my site be a PR3 if I had no back links... ( I have lots of backlinks) .. in the latest PR revision my site went from PR2 to PR3... but seems I have no SERPs placements.

    Try sheerseo.com
there are more sophisticated tools out there, that will give you info from different datacenters, but the sheerseo one has a nice feature if you register, where they track your keywords week on week so you can see what's up and what's down over a period of time.
