Since just before the PR update, one of my keywords jumped onto first page google.com - since then it has been jumping up and down from no.4 to no.11 ever since. In Google.co.uk - have been bouncing around pages 4 - 6 in the same way. Does this settle down? Anything else I can do? All input greatly welcomed! :
yeah. exactly. all dp members and non dp members are facing same problem. It is google dance. You can read more about google dance here.
2 reasons this happens: 1) So Google can test CTR relative to position and compare it to other listings. 2) To confuse SEO'ers, the more random the results, the harder it is for people to figure out ways of manipulating them. By building more quality backlinks with targeted anchor text you can make your position more solid.
Who are you to say its untrue? Point me to some reputable articles by established SEO's that disprove this theory.
