Here's my situation, I used Google Webmaster Tools, view Top search queries section, as picture below:

as you see, with keywords as javascript, java script, hoc html, javascript source code, javascript code, code javascript then position of my site is displayed in TOP 10 of search results, but when I click these link to check then G give the wrong results - my site down to a few tens .

And when I click & check PR of sites in TOP 10 then realize that some sites have PR less than my site, but them displayed above mine (www.javascript.com, www.scriptsearch.com, javaboutique.internet.com, ...).

For this reason, can you tell me the truth of SERP & SEO in order to help me find the Reality, Cause and Solutions to improve my site rank?

    Thank you very much. :helpsmili

If you notice, it says "one week ago", meaning the data isn't real time. Plus, Pagerank doesn't determine SERPs, as you can obviously tell. Pagerank tells about the quality of the links, but not the relevancy; yes relevancy means more than non-relevant. So, in theory a site can have a lot of quality non-relevant links and have a higher Pagerank but still rank lower than competing sites.

Those results are almost never very accurate in the short term. I mean that if it says you are in position 5 for a week, you may not necessarily be in position 5, but if it stays that way for a few weeks you will show up in position 5... I think it has something do with reading data from different google datacenters. At least that has been my experience with it.

Improve it by building more backlinks.

Visit all the thread given in this froum for increasing your SERP. But it's now truth that PR doesn't affect the SERP till you have high difference in PR. Higher PR gets nicely indexed but it's not that google will give you high rank for having high PR. This depends upon the content, how informative website did you create?

I also have a similar problem, whenever i search for a search term related to my site it's never in the top 20 and then each week Google says it's in the Top 20. I'm confuzzled.

Many questions have been ask like how can a PR3 site rank higher that a PR5. Simple, Page Rank does not define the position in the SERPs.

What does, is the OnPage SEO, the quality of the Anchor Text in the backlinks, the quantity of backlinks and the importance of the site that give you that back link.

At the bottom of that page you'll see a link that says "download all query stats" on the statistics page, do that and you'll get a huge file with a lot more information - such as which google the traffic comes from (i.e google.com, google.dr etc etc) and also the type of searches e.g image searches.
