    Hi

I have a website which is 3 months old - I just rose to a PR3 from PR0 and my website has 1950 backlinks.I know that PR is not the only determinant of SERP but I heard somewhere that it could take several more months after the PR update for newer sites to even show a listing somwhere on google due to the whole backling aging thing. Is this correct?

PR has no effect on your ranking. Even you have PR0 and your site was just one week old it can have a good SERP as long as your site was well optimized with your targeted keywords.

Well generally depending on the competivness of the keyword(s) your targeting, it can take time for you to start appearing in SERPs.

Definitely. I've seen in my practice and leisure web surfing many websites coming out to be ranked very low and at the same time getting first page in Google. Smart keyword optimization is the key;)

Well PR does seem to have an impact on crawl speed and how fast you rank. But generally, its doesn't have that big any effect on the SERP ranks.

supposedly there is a delay in getting listed in Google for new sites, but I've never had that problem for the sites that I built...I think it's about good SEO.

On that note, 1950 links after only 3 months is pretty agressive...make sure you're using ethical link building tactics because the last thing you'd want is to get banned from the SE's months down the road. :)

Choosing right combination of Keywords is the answer.

Well said. Unless you want to sell links on your high PR sites, focusing on PR value is not as effective as focusing on good optimization techniques like creating good contents, placing keywords in the right places, etc.

SERP rankings does not depend on PR, good optimization and aged sites might help rank high on SERPs.
