SERP position drop in internal pages

    Hi all

We have been submitting our internal pages to various social news websites (such as Netscape and PlugIM), these had good results, making our pages cached within a day or so and sent our internal pages towards the top of google for the direct keyphrase and variants.

Checking today, our SERP for these phrases has plummeted, the websites are pretty established, PR5 and PR6 which made me think that would have propped us up, at least for a little longer than a few days?

Are our pages likely to return towards the top or is it a case of needing more links to the internal pages to prop them back up?

    Any opinion is appreciated

usually social media links carry very little weight when it comes to SERPS.

I wouldn't worry about it, give it a few days

I think Netscape will help you somewhat as I heard they have do follow up links.

You probably gained better results for the key phrases because the pages were new and shown on popular sites. More links will always help.

remember that with news media sites....the longer your story is there, the more it gets buried....fresh news is always put to the front so this is a really short term strategy

Things like that can really happen. It's because a lot of new sites are gaining their own ranking in SE's...
