SERP on google.com different to google.co.uk

I have been working on getting my site to page 1 on Google and succeeded, yay me!

I have noticed however that my American traffic is still quite low so looking into it I've realized that I'm only on page 1 for 'all web' Google UK.

When I managed to find how to stick to Google.com US and searched again i'm down in 45th.

Is there a specific way to increase your SERP with Google.com US or is it as simple as Google looks for US ie .com links to your site and other US related areas.

You need more qaulity backlinks from US sites. I suppose now you get backlinks from UK.
Try to get more from US and you will see that your site will have better rankings
    on google.com

Try posting comments in US forums and blogs (do follow) with a signature. This is a great forum to do that on!

I dont think that .com is classed as US, its more a universal domain, recognised by the world.

Google has different servers in different location, and your site has different SERP in different servers too.

What you're seeing is the effects of geo-location. All of the major search engines give a great deal of weight to geo-location in their ranking methods. The logic is simple enough - pages from sites that are located in the user's country will tend to be more relevant to that user. The major search engines use two common criteria to determine geo-location: (1) the presence of a Country Code Top Level Domain Name (as in ".co.uk"), or (2) for generic domain names like .com, .net, .org, .info, etc. they use the physical location of the server that hosts the site based on its IP address. Google has also been known to rely on the domain name registration data to some extent, but its not clear if they still do. Links do not affect geo-location, but they can affect local search rankings.

Google allows webmasters to set their preferred geo-location through the Webmaster Tools Console, which even allows them to effectively split their sites into separate geo-locations by sub-directory so you can target different countries within a single domain. This is a very handy tool that any site that needs to target specific countries.

That´s not true. You can have com domain a hosted in other country than US. You need backlinks from websites hosted in US or websites which has many backlinks from US...
