SERP Issue

    Hey everyone;
My page http://www.buyingapool.com/ was once 3rd page results for 'buying a pool' and 7th for 'buying a swimming pool'.
About 3 weeks ago it vanished from these pages, and SERP checking tools don't register those keywords for my site (Its still indexed in google however).
I never paid for any links or exchanged links with anything negative or any of that sort. Also, the content isn't copied. My guess is maybe I built links too quickly?
If that's the case, how could I get around fixing it and getting my old SERP back?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Did you rank for these terms quickly after you launched the site? If so this is actually quite common. Was this the situation?

Yeah, They were quickly ranked ssand.
That wouldn't be it puli...I might drop a few rankings or pages, but not completely vanish from the first 50 pages in the span of less than week.

I knew it :) Just give it time, you'll get there! Remember, keep providing unique quality rich content and building those backlinks.

    ssandecki,

Hey I've never had a page get indexed and then non indexed a day later. Has this happed to you? We put the page up - indexed in 15 hours - stayed ranking well for 2 days then it's no longer indexed and our other page is no longer indexed as of a few hours ago. They were linked to each other if you need that info. and themed the same. Any thoughts? Yes, we did build plenty of links to them in two days.

Was it duplicated content from another web page?

I've had that happen quite a few times, a cache rollback of sorts.

Also it can be due to you accessing different datacenters when you do a cache query. I wouldn't be too concerned unless it continues for more than say a week, pages of mine that this happened to suffered no long term effects after it re-cached again.

Funnily enough it's usually pages i have really hammered links at also, it's like Google finds a few links, cache's the page then finds 100's or 1,000s of other links, chokes and winds back the clock and re-assesses the page.

I've never noticed it on established pages, just new ones.

No it wasn't dup. content but the content was connected. I was (hopefully still will be) trying to establish a page as the hub and get a few other pages linking to it. I built up the "hub" page with tons of links and then the other pages with several links.

@sweetfunny - thanks for the info. I hope this is what's going on. It is a new page and we did build links to it so this may be the case.

    Thanks to you both.
