SERP impact on design and url changes

    Hi,

I'm evaluating the possibility of changing my forum software and would like to know, with the proper 301 redirect what are the impacts of changing website structure (design / layout) and url's?

With similar onsite optimizations will SERP's and earnings from adsense be affected?

    Thanks

Any on-page activity impacts your SERP in this or that way, especially changes of URLs.
Be careful with URLs, keep the old (promoted) ones as long and as many as you can, since the new one will not get the same positions in SERP for a long time initially.

Yes, In case we decide to switch, I will ensure that the 301 will work forever.

Are we talking about week's, month's? How much average should we expect?
In the end, they should remain in the same position, won't they?

I'll prefer to keep the URL structure same as before if you've many URL indexed in Google otherwise you will be a loser.

    Hi,

We are talking about forum software. It's not easy to map the old url structure.

I wouldn't recommend you changing URL structure. Keep it as was.
