just wait for a while...i would say 3-7 days, then panic joke ups and downs are quite often these days. im sure you will get back to the first page
Hi Chris, If I were you I wouldn't worry too much. I'm paying 85% of my mortgage, car, daily stuff and weekends, mostly thanks to Google and I got 2 of my best sites DROPPED completely! SERP's, specially Google's ranking patterns in the last 2 weeks have been DRAMATIC in changes. The predicted fact for this... *Don't worry if you're buying links (unrelated or related as far PR is not grey on many of the sites you purchased link) * Don't worry if you market articles HEAVILY. 25-40 articles published in a month) * Don't worry if you paying all your stuff from SE's, got yourself some acceptable savings until SERP's get updated and you made sure you had in storage some light beers Happens often with most of my sites. It's just usual stuff with Google. Make sure to make notes with those patterns every month, it will help you not go "loco" next time it happens. Stay in this forum, LOTS of great marketers and knowledgeable dudes around here. Have fun! Joaquin
I had a drop in my rankings about 5 days ago but today some of them came back to normal, and even better than normal. For a keyword in which my website was lost in the last five days, I jumped from #4 to #2. Hope the others will come back as better rankings quickly.
They just did this to me on one of my sites, yet boosted another.. I dunno its give and take it seems.
Matt Cutts has defined three kinds of updates #1 - Algorithm update: Typically yields changes in the search results on the larger end of the spectrum. Algorithms can change at any time, but noticeable changes tend to be less frequent. #2 - Data refresh: When data is refreshed within an existing algorithm. Changes are typically toward the less-impactful end of the spectrum, and are often so small that people don’t even notice. One of the smallest types of data refreshes is an: #3 - Index update: When new indexing data is pushed out to data centers. Google would refresh some of its index pretty much every day, which generated much smaller day-to-day changes that some people called everflux. Googe is in everflux and the index is always updating. However, the engineers at Google are constanly trying to streamline the algo code and one little change can cause you to fall off the map.
OMFG I am now 5th in the .au search and 8th in the .com search. Anchored backlinks really do help Ive been selling a min $50 worth of stock a day due to my google listing. it should increase as I climb the ladder
That's the secret my freind. Always have some loot and cold ones stored. It's feast or famine with google. Live on the level of your lowest monthly gross even at the good times and stash the cash when you are hot.
my traffic has been increasing over the past few days and is more than halfway back to normal but hopefully it will surpass normal
I lost 70% of my links today.....you guys aren't the only ones. I've also had SERP drops in all my keywrods last week or so.
I would expect a data push after the pr update and it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
Creditwisdom, can you please tell me how old your site is? Because I'm experiencing exactly the same drop and increase as you had these last few days... And I have this with 2 new (1.5 months old) sites. Maybe this is just the new Google way of playing with new sites
I have also experienced a massive drop, even though my site is 2 years old. This is a huge pain at the moment, has anyone experienced their traffic getting anywhere near back to normal yet? Is this sort of thing common around PR update time as my traffic has been low for around 10 days now?
Those who have experinced SERP drops check again now, mine return where they where before and even more higher, this happened because google just upated the Page with The higher PR in the webmasters tools cheers
