That is brilliant! I have seen these comment and review things on sites with a lot of products. Now I know why they are there. I just never "got it" until now.

    Thank you!!

    :)

there is a very cool tool called Hexatrack that 'suggests' long tail phrases that your site is currently getting search engine traffic for without you even knowing it. the point being that if you optimize a page for the phrase it gives you, you're a shoe in for the top listing. it's automated and works very, very well.

I also rank in the first few pages for "SEO" and even higher for a few even harder terms. Because of being able to compete with the "big boys" I have largely ignored long tail and just going for the top terms but I have to say that i recently launched a site and ended up getting even more traffic from longtail than with 1 word serches so i would have to concur that longtail is very valuable and going to be putting more effort into it in the future. Also agree it converts better. Quality tip.

great info about long trail keywords!
I also believe it can bring positive results to your site. Having long tail keywords can help your boost your rankings.

The proof you've shown proven that its worth using!

May I ask exactly how you are going to put more effort into ltkw's? Does that mean you will focus on getting links with ltkw's as the anchor in the future, or exactly what?

    nice post sweetfunny.

The topic you are talking about is not new to me. I have read about it before
I discovered DP. And here, no one talked about it so I thought, well, here are
the experts and when they say backlinks are the most crucial point to SERPs than
    it must be that way.

    I was wrong.

Well, I just wanted to know how many new pages (with how many words, 200-300 maybe?)
you added in the beginnig of
your project and if you have added all the pages at the same date. There is the
talk about not to include new content too fast.

    Thanks

Excellent Post. I had not thought of that long tail gives such a high ratio "98%".:)
I would surely implement this tip with my site. But just one question wont these long tail keywords decrease the prominency of the exact keywords we are targeting?

Which CMS would you suggest using so you have minimal work in editing the code, site structure, applied product reviews or comments modification... ? Basically everything that matters should already be applied and you would just be editing the content and adding products.

I use Wordpress. I have a question about this; how can I use this approach in WP when the posts regularly move from the first page? I've had indented long tails but they disappear when the posts shift.

With Wordpress you need to make your site architecture as flat as possible, a perfectly flat architecture means every page on the site is only one click away no matter what page you are on.

Easy with a standard 5 page website, but it gets difficult when you have lots of pages and content. With Wordpress some things you can do to help pages that aren't on the homepage are:

Install a HTML sitemap and link it from every page
Install the Related Posts Plugin, this adds links to several other posts at the end of each post.
Install the Recent Posts Plugin sitewide
Install the Random Posts Plugin which will display posts from the archive on the homepage
Manually link to other older posts when you add new content
    Get backlinks to internal pages

This will all help spread the authority around your blog and give older content a much better chance of ranking and getting long-tail traffic. If you have a lot of content, pay close attention to sites like Wikipedia, Amazon, w3.org etc and how they internally link.
