ok so first of let me apologize for my lack of knowledge in this aspect. I have spent days looking through questions here and online and cant seem to find help. I got a question as well an offer or question in regards to a template if anyone has seen one like this. help on template i need to be done and once again sorry if this has been asked but i didnt find a clear answer. Thanks alot for your time. 1. I plan to use magento for my site and want to know if i were to buy a template which when sold they have default pictures. Will i simply be able to change one of the images to MY own. for example there is a template that has a big banner on the front page of a sun. I can simply jus replace that sun picture with mine in the control panel? 2. for my site i plan on selling some clothing (mostly shirts). I want the front page to be mostly blog/header (have some examples but not sure if i can post website). I want it to be more interactive for example posting random videos i plan to start filming. news articles or just updates as to what im working one. (pretty much jus randomness) but also have some products below or off to the sides. If anyone has seen a template like this please contact me or if you can make one like this even better! It doesnt have to be for magento but from what ive read its the best and easier one to use. Once again any help is greatly appreciated and any help is welcomed and thanks for your time.
Well replacing the images is easy, the easiest way is to find its location, login through ftp and go to that location and replace the 1 thats already there with the same name. If you want to upload an image with a different name then you will have to look in the coding of the template for the image that you want to replace and change the location through there (thats after uploading the image you want so that it shows up). Everything else is doable but you will need to have at least some knowledge in editing the templates otherwise you can get someone else to do it for you as you said, I really don't mind helping out there are plenty of Templates out there, finding 1 that covers everything you want is hard so you can pic the one that is the closest and then edit that to suit you, and there are plenty of other content management systems that can make it easier for you. I would be glad to help out with anything if you are not planning to use magento tbh I've never used it or have enough knowledge about it.
Yes, this is actually pretty straight forward. If you get hung up feel free to drop me a note. I work with Magento fairly often. Nigel
