Google Co-Founders, Chief Executive Get $1 in Salary (Update2) January 23, 2006 20:28 EST -- Google Inc. co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, enriched by a fivefold increase in the company's shares, will keep their salaries at $1 this year, unchanged from 2005. Other top executives each will get a 43 percent pay raise .
This is probably because they take out the rest in dividends, that way you don't pay as much in contributions. Thats how it works in the UK anyway
Of course, all of this "getting paid $1 a year" is a non-issue because they get so much stock and options. Steve Jobs even got a Gulfstream V out of it. Hey, I'd gladly take a $1 year salary if they threw in all of the other benefits these guys get.
