Sequence in sending e-mails when user opts in

How do you guys go about sending emails to your optin leads? How many emails to you send ina week and in what style? Is there a goal the 1st email must satisfy and then the second and then the third? Is there a way to write the e-mails properly so they lead to sales after they have opted in?

If i could outsource this type of work, what would the job title be. Email copywriter?

Yes, your list must be handled very carefully. It takes a little learning the basics to building and maintaining a list.

    1. Always deliver more than you promised. Be very generous with your freebies.
    2. Deliver good content. Make sure you know what your audience wants. Too many people go through the trouble of generating a good sized list in one market and then promote products in another.

What I do depends on the list and product I'm promoting. If I were promoting a weight loss product, I set my responder up to send an email every 3 days for the first 3 messages. Those 3 messages contain nothing but good content and one or two free ebook/reports. No selling at all. There is a link below my sig to the product and that is it.

The 4th email begins my sale process. Not a hard sell, but a definite recommendation to buy my product. The next 2 emails are stronger selling emails, but still I provide good content.

After the sixth email, I set up my responder to send emails once a week. This is needed to keep my name in front of them so they don't forget me:))

    Hope this helps..
