When it comes to CC processing, what is normally done with a VISP, do you get another merchant account or use the same one? If I use the same one do I setup my merchant account to put a generic name on the customers statement?

You can do it either way, it's up to you... Optigold can support different merchant accounts/gateways per VISP.

Not that this is an Opti question but I like the idea of keeping the same merchant account for both, can I change what appears on customers statements to something generic say "ISP" and if so where do I start, Verisign?

It would be through your merchant provider (not the gateway). They are the ones that control what they would see.

But is it normally possible? To change the name on the statement? I know you aren't the provider but I figure you know more about merchant accounts than I do.

No idea to be honest, I never asked our merchant provider to change ours, so I don't have much experience with it.
