Backround Information

Alot of SEO's offer a consulting service via the phone/email to cover the basics of what you need to get your site to rank in the search engines. It's a great selling tool because most customers will convert into dedicated clients after you pick apart their website, mostly because they just don't have the time or knowledge to fix their site.

That's where the idea for this site came into play. Typically I charge a rate of $200 for an SEO consultation and it's usually the first thing I offer to potential clients because it's cheap and it shows them that you do know what you're talking about. So I started with that, and threw in a few options for analyze competitor websites and extended pricing options for specific markets.

I then added a link campaign service to the site since it's in huge demand these days.

I also added an actual search engine optimization product. Essentially the customer pays $100 up front for us to look over their site and build out a proposal for seo services (for which the $100 counts as a deposit for it they accept the proposal).

The rest of the content on the site is fairly general, outlining the basics of SEO, and the standard TOS, Privacy Policy, Contact Us, and About Us pages. Nothing too spectacular on these pages.

There are no revenue stats. The site has not made any sales. This is due mostly to the fact that beyond a press release, it was never marketed.

Technology

The website is run with osCommerce Max. It's a modified version of oscommerce that comes with a bunch of modifications preinstalled. I am not an oscommerce expert, but the site is quite easy to operate. The winner of the auction will be given the contact details of the designer that built the site, as he is very competent and can answer any questions about using oscommerce or modifying it.

Current SEO

In February the website recieved 60 unique visitors, in January it received 100 uniques.

It has been crawled by Google, MSN, Yahoo, Alexa, and AskJeeves.

Current Google Rankings:
"seo report card" 12th position
"seo report example" 20th position
"seo cookie usage" 2nd position (I have no idea why it ranks for this lol)

According to my server logs it also has rankings for "seo permanent one way links" and "why do seo" but I didn't see it in the first three pages on Google.

The only real SEO/marketing done for this website was a press release back in January (http://www.prwebdirect.com/releases/2006/1/prweb336351.htm).

During the PR update, the homepage got PR3, as did some of it's sub pages.


Conditions of Sales

The services offered on the site were done by hand. As such, if you buy this site and market it, it is expected that you will actually have knowledge of SEO or you will have to make extensive modifications to the site.

Ask yourself if you can actually do the services mentioned on the site. If not, then either be ready to make changes to it OR don't buy it.

This site does have alot of potential and it does have a very brandable name. You could do alot with this site. I'm selling it because I want to focus on other projects and don't want to see this site die. So I'm hoping that whoever buys it will take good care of it.

The website and the mysql database will be transferred to your server after the auction.
