    Hi,

Now that YouTube is getting even bigger and bigger then before, it would be a good idea to start marketing videos trough YouTube. I was wondering if there is any way to get higher in the YouTube search for your videos.

Is there some sort of algoritm, or is it just a combination of good keywords in the title?

    Do backlinks count? View count?

Anybody with some information about this?

View count plays a huge role in Youtube SERPS -- it's the biggest factor out of anything else. Keywords in the video title are directly tied to what shows up on SERPs...the video description plays much less of a role.

    Backlinks don't count.

Let me know if you're in need of having view boosting done to increase your video(s) SEO...I provide that service. :)

SEO for Youtube is not very difficult. Here are the main steps

    1. Write a short catchy Title stuffed with your keywords.

    2. In your video description, provide a link to your webpage followed by text containing your keywords. It is better to write the text such that it does not look spammy.

    3. After you submit the video, go for Youtube view increaser tool. One such free tool is at tube-surfer.net. Once you get in top pages discontinue using the tool and wait for natural traffic.

    I'm merely guessing...

But it seems that if a video is not really something a lot of people are interested in, it would barely matter how well is was SEO'd.

Many people seem to like the bizarre, wierd and unusual on Youtube.

My main question regards whether there is some special number threshold that can launch a Youtube video to the next level.

Like if a video reaches 1000 views, does that boost it to another level?

Or if it reaches a certain number of ratings. Not just what it's rating is, but the number of times it was rated.

I've searched for stuff before and seen results with much lower than 10K views.

One other aspect that came to mind, was how many rating votes a video gets per 100 views. I've seen some videos with 1000 views and not one rating. Then, I've seen videos with 500 views and 10 ratings. It seems that if the ratings are good, that a higher concentration of ratings would indicate a video was of better quality and content.
