I don't think it's that simple to just optimize for Google and watch your SERP's rock Yahoo and Bing. I had one site that got de-indexed from Google but just kept rockin on Bing bring in thousands of vistors per day. I could never figure out wtf I did to get it there. I've had other sites that rock on google but are so low in SERP's so my question still stands. I'd like to figure out more about moving sites up in Yahoo. Just optimize it for google is kinda of a cop out and doesn't really work all the time. Thoughts?

Wouldn't think you would have to worry about Yahoo SEO, since google is all you need to get million of visitors each day.

Generally speaking if you optimise for Google, Yahoo will follow suit is what I have found in my SEO experience and what I personally recommend.

1, link popularity: Google thought more link popularity, yahoo not emphasize this.

2, META tags: Google, yahoo still has disdain META very seriously.

3, key words in the domain name: yahoo Google attach more importance than to key words in the domain name.

4, yahoo will grab HTML comment, and Google don't grab this.

5, Google to pay more attention to the semantic analysis and link popularity, and yahoo H1H2H3 TITLE and attention

6, Google than yahoo updated much faster.

    Hope this helps you.

My experience was that yahoo is not as sensitive for spamlinks as google. Sometimes you get into the google dance after blasting like 20k links to the moneysite - yahoo just acts like your site is worth to be increased in the rankings haha =)

Yahoo started hating on me about the same time as Google did. Maybe Yahoo bases their results on Google?

Google is one only best place where you can prove that your site is best compare to others. There are many reasons for using google for SEO purpose.

The first and important reason is -Mostly Universal folks uses and have trust on google searched results coz they are very much perfect and satisfactory also.
Second google have number of aspects and rules in their algorithum through which you can filter your site and make it best in universe.
Third its gives rank to that sites which are genuine and informative so that folks can get exactly or near to what they want.

So like this there are many other hidden reason in google algorithum which filter your site and make visible in universe as No.1 in their niche market.
Here I am not saying that Yahoo is just waste. Yes, it also one from useful S.E. that comes just 2 No. after google but there are many thing need to works more for yahoo in order to stand just next or step ahead of google and I am sure that in near future it might happen that yahoo beat google but it take long time coz google are always working constantly and enhancing their power for e.g. Google Caffeine a new invention which show fastest and accurate results.

So if you able to get 1 rank in Google it means your site got Universal Approval that it is Best from rest.

Meta description doesn't have as nearly as much impact on rank.
