I did some SEO work (directories, blog comments, internal links improvement, etc) for a site that wasn't showing up in Google SERPs. It's showing up now a couple dozen pages back in SERPs but it ranks #1 in Google image search for my top keyword phrase. I expect to see SERPs improvement but I am wondering if it's days, weeks, or months away. Have you seen a connection between regular Google rankings and image rankings and if so what was the lag between changes in the two searches?
What you did wasn't SEO. It was Web site promotion. My question to you is which site did you try to promote with your directory submissions, blog comments (which are practically worthless anyway if done purely for the backlink - contributing useful comments that add to a blog discussion on the other hand can get you signfiicantly more traffic if worded properly) and so on?
OK, I guess I could have called it search engine cognizant off page web site promotion. I didn't say I blog comment spammed, I did real comments and Google is showing links from the main site I commented on, in fact it places it first in some specialized searches. I did do some on page SEO work as well but it's the inbound links that were my major efforts.
I didn't say you were spamming. I'm just saying (for the benefit of others) that posting comments in blogs just for the backlink is pointless. If I came off as sounding like I had accused you of blog spamming, I'm sorry. It was not my intent.
Cool. There are so many people in forums with an answer they want to post and they look for anything close to a question related and post away. I respect your response and follow up.
image search results on Google will help. Just remember, real people are looking for information - if the information comes in text, image or video format doesn't really matter - you're still going to get the traffic that matters to your product/service.
