Hard to understand how my competitor's articles seem to rank better than mine in Google and large search engines. I've got good content but limited time to invest to get it there. Need someone who understands sites well (it's relatively large, has several wordpress blogs, a forum, and some good unique content) to help get us back on track.
They might rank better because there using better keywords in there content, theres alot of factors that could contribute to the result of your position in search engines. The other possible reason is that maybe they have links on higher PR sites so it gives them alot more traffic than your site. But dont give up, thats my advice ive got a blog and ive never given up. The main thing for is to understand their links and other attributes of the websites. I have a website which still ranks number 4 in google .co.uk even though it's just one page and no good information. but the domain is 8 years old and has some back links my competitors cannot get. thus you need to analyse them and find out how to get quality links like them.
I think the problem lies in the type of SEO you are following. I am not denying the fact that backlinks and keywords are equally important, however you should also have a proper SEO strategy for that you can overcome them

The challenge with a lot of these services is building up of backlinks on poor sites that unfortunately get no return traffic, linking benefits, etc. Quality is difficult to come by. I've had problems on my site from backlink dumpers... hopefully will get better results.
