Hey!! OK all you digitalpoint guru's on SEO and Google Adsense and keyword programs. Client x is is paying for over 100+ words and phrases and spending lots of money each month...but still cant seem to pass a competitor in the market. His site has no SEO content and needs a complete code overhaul to come into compliance and begin to set some ranking in the organic section of Google, Yahoo and MSN. I am a firm believer in SEO. I don't click on the paid sponsors and wonder how many really do. I know that Google gives you every method to track you programs...but in reality is a great SEO program better than spending thousands with Google. Just looking for some open discussions...... Thnx
i suggest you get started on your seo then, because ppc if only a temp solution to a permanent problem, seo is long time and less in the long term as more competition for ads begins and price per click rises aswell.
you need to do SEo even if you want to use Adwords. adwords has its own anking system also and what you pay per click and the position where your ad will be displayed depends lot on SEO.
Seo is Longterm PPC is short term / advertising ..... For me long term is the wat so SEO is the best option
PPC can be a good idea if you want to test your site before you optimize it it can help you find the keywords which produce best result (in traffic and conversion) but still, don't forget that PPC is temporary. it's too competitive and expansive for a long term campaign. proper SEO is always the most effective, stable, and cheapest(if you do it your self) way to choose
PPC is a great tool for advertising your site. Contrary to what many 'SEO' men might say, people DO click on the PPC ads and I own several businesses that turn over in excess of £300,000 each year and 85% of traffic is generated through PPC. Granted I have a PPC budget in the region of £5,000 per month which could be [perhaps?] better spent on an SEO program but the problem with a generic SEO program is that it takes time and I like to make my money NOW. With that in mind I have decided to pay for my PPC and when my startups reach self-sustaining levels of profits, pour THOSE profits back into a generic SEO campagin alongside my PPC campaign. By this time I'm also starting to promote in traditional media too (newspapers, radio etc etc) and trying to generate traffic from other websites via banner ads... Search Engines are great tools to start businesses but as soon as you can branch out to other forms of lead generation you should. No one likes to have all their eggs in one basket....
