I am running VB on one of my sites and I wanted to bring it up to speed for SEO, I notice the DP forum does not use the static html pages. What is the current thinking on this?
Well im not sure if you are talking or aware (post slightly confusing) but there is a tool called VBSEO, which mod re-writer all dynamic URL threads to static PHP ones and fills if with meta tag. Although its $150, I havent purchased it yet, but when my forum takes off a bit more, I will be purchasing it
Yeah I do know of this product but I don't want to use it over a network of different sites as it's going to add up to a lot of money - my point here is that DP is not using static html so how important can it be? Are there better SEO tweaks for VB that can be done for a similar result. I see lots of PHP pages ranking well in the serps hence the question.
The people who use VBSEO swear by it. I guess it depends on the amount of help the sites need. After all DP generates alot of activity and alot of natural inbound links. Search engines like that. if your sites don't have alot of traffic (compared with the competition) and you're having to solicit inbound links (via directories etc) then you may find the extra help from VBSEO is well worth it.
Yeah thanks but there must be a better way than dropping $150 on that product - That is what I was looking for.
