So will it be better idea to miss the key word: "Los-Angeles" from the URL

in order to have the shortest possible URL?

(mydomain (.) com does not contain "Los-Angeles"

    imho:

    #1 may trip spam filters
#2 and 4 should be ok since they have a proper structure
    #3 is a bit haphazard

I agree .. the shorter the URL the better...

Long URLs stuffed with Key words, may or may not be considered as spam.... Im not sure about this though...

I guess #2 and #4 would be fine. #2 seems to be the best choice as it is descriptive and precise while #4 would be fine if you can afford to skip the keyword 'Los-Angeles'.

It depends what your site is about. If the whole site is about travel-lodging then including that in the url is pretty redundant and takes the weight off the real keywords.

I think #2 would be good also since it tells you location and hotel. Maybe you would want to take out lodging in all of them since travel/hotel would mean lodging would be involved already.

Why not do something more intuitive like:

    http://www.mydomain.com/travel/lodging/hotels/bed-breakfasts/los-angeles/

i dunno, just my opinion, but that's how i'd do it. it seems like each belongs in its parent dir that way.
