SEO unfriendly content

Back when I was planning to make a niche site for recreation/hobby, I worte a whole bunch of articles relating to my niche. Now that I'm getting into monetization/SEO part od things, I realize that my articles arent optimized for any keywords.

When I run a keyword density tool on some of these articles, they contain broad and very competitive keywords...

So for the purposes of SEO, are these articles largely useless?

What modifications to the articles/webpage on which each appears should make?

    Thank You :)

just to clarify, by that i mean, i dont mean that my niche is "recreation/hobby" but rather that i was making my website for my personal enjoyment.

Do some keyword research and plug those keywords in your article. You can do this without having to rewrite the entire thing.
