    Hi

Are there any good SEO Books / Training courses that are worth doing? I have been doing elements of SEO for a year on and off and want to understand about it more

I see there are a few UK based SEO Training Courses that are class based and seem to be good

    Anyone used or recommend any?

    Jay

The one by Aaron Wall is good. You can also learn a lot by going through quality forums and blogs.

When I was first learning I immersed myself in SEO like 16 hrs per day. Read 3-4 books on the topic the first month. I even read "Search Engine Optimization for Dummies" LOL. Don't laugh... when you know nothing, it's a great way to get the basics down.

I paid $149/yr subscription at WebmasterWorld.com and started trolling their forums. Started trolling the Google's Help Forums. Became a top-level contributor at Google...

Have been to several Pubcon conferences... Pubcon is WebmasterWorld.com's SEO/SEM conference. They put on two per year. The one in Las Vegas is always good and usually happens in Nov or Dec. I will be there again this year. You get to rub elbowswith, eat lunch at the table with, party with, and speak one-on-one w/ everyone who is anybody in search - Matt Cutts, Venesa Fox, Rae Hoffman, Michael Gray, etc. I'd say it's probably the best SEO conference around. You get to meet webmasters from around the world and share experiences.

Once you get the basics down, participating in forums like this one and following blogs of people in the industry that you respect is the primary means of keeping up to date and honing your SEO skills.

We are a United States marketing company, and we have been doing marketing over 10 years. Now while we don't have books, we do offer training courses for all our new employees that we hire, so we can offer you some training if you are interested.
