Just double check your FTP settings (the right path and username/pass) and check to make sure you saved the template after changing it. Then also check to make sure you published the entire blog. For me the entire blog takes much longer to publish than just the index.

Basically double check, because blogger seems to work quite reliably for me.

I wanted to do that a couple of weeks ago and never came up with a solution that
    a) displays the blog title if it's a main page
    b) displays the page title if it's a blog entry.

btw I'm with blogspot.com so no regular expressions for me :)

Odd it worked for me. I just pasted
in place of the current title code in my template and republished.

While you are at it, you should make your titles be the anchor text like I did on mine. :)

    There really isn't much to share... just move the anchor text tags to surround the titles instead of the date... {shrug}

The trick is NOT to post both of these in place of the title:

    <MainPage> <Blogger><title><$BlogPageTitle$></title></Blogger> </MainPage>
    <ItemPage> <Blogger><title><$BlogItemTitle$></title></Blogger> </ItemPage>

What you have to do is just post only the <itempage> one ABOVE the regular title tag:
    <ItemPage> <Blogger><title><$BlogItemTitle$></title></Blogger> </ItemPage>
    <TITLE>Blah Blah Blah</TITLE>

This will leave the main page with your regular title and will change all the post pages. It worked for me here and I don't have extra title tags.

Also, if there is something you want to make sure is always in the post titles, you can add it like I added "Editor's Diary -" and the post title will appear after that.

    <ItemPage> <Blogger><title>Editor's Diary - <$BlogItemTitle$></title></Blogger> </ItemPage>

What about the archive pages? This is what I use:

    <MainOrArchivePage><title><$BlogPageTitle$></title></MainOrArchivePage>
    <ItemPage><Blogger><title><$BlogItemTitle$></title></Blogger></ItemPage>
    Code (markup):

The archive pages just use what's in the <TITLE> tags on mine. But that's a good idea - I can have something different on my archive pages, too.

Well if you have a normal title tag that isn't specific to somewhere, don't you end up with two title tags for the main and item pages?

I'm not sure what you mean. People were complaining of having several title tags - in their HTML they have four sets of <TITLE> tages. In mine I just have one <TITLE> plus the code generated for the post pages. I use regular <TITLE> tags because I want control over them and don't want them being just the title of the blog on the main page.

Well if you want to set the <title> on a per post basis (I just let mine be the title of my post), I suppose you could take out the title tags in the template for just the posts, then make sure you remember to put the title tags within your blog text somewhere, but that seems like it's more work than it's worth (for me anyway). :)
