so anyway i want to create a website... and make sure it get's lots of traffic from search engines...(mainly google) now after my site has been submmitted to google... and gets accpeted.. how can i start gettin some decent traffic... 1.) i know i have to add meta tags.. i know how to do that... 2.) i know that i cant have flashy javascript menus.. coz my site wont get read 3.) as often... unique content with keywords.. can you guys add to the list please... thanks...im just tryin to learn SEO as i cant afford to pay anyone..
Hi there, Hope you are doing well. I would be glad to help you with a complete search engine marketing plan as per the best of my knowledge. As you typed our few of the tasks, SEO is not limited to it. It is surely BEYOND it. Let me quickly list down the plan here so that you can start doing SEO for your website. Major Activities : | 1. | Directory Submission Notes: The purpose of this task is to get back links or inbound links to make the Search Engine feel that your website has a web and is wellknown in the industry. Make sure that your links are place in a very very relavent category in the directories. Obviously the waitage of a specific directory to your Business/Industry is more than any other general directory. Also make sure than you do not enter single link with same keywords. Keep changine the different page links of your website with page specific keywprds. The keywords you place in the directory must be found in the content of that page. Never do more than 30 directory submission per day. | 2. | Article Submission Notes: Same as directory submission, make sure that you find and submit your article in industry specific article directory and relavant category. While submitting the article in any directory, do not copy/paste it from word or any other formatted version, but copy/paste it from the text pade. Than make some formatting according to the keywords and give hyperlink on the keywords to your website pages related to that keyword. Again that keyword must be found in the linked page content. Never do more than 30 article submission per day. | 3. | Social Bookmarking Notes: Although social bookmarking is purely not an SEO activity, people use it regularly to get easy inbound links. Most of the Social Bookmarking websites are build in a way to manage the bookmarks which is than crowled by the Search Engines and acts as a backlink to your website. Again like i said in Directory & Article submission, use different page links in different Social Bookmarking websites with different keywords and never submit all your links in every SB website. This might be considered as spam. Never do more than 15 Social Bookmarking submission per day. | 4. | Blog & Forum Posting Notes: This is very unique task as it requres a bit of command on the language in which you are submitting the post, plus somewhat knowledge about the topic you are submitting a post and above all some patience. While submitting the forum and blog post, you have to find very relavant blogs and forums to save your website from being spammed. You will need to take care that you write to the point and put your website link while formatting the post text. The link should be relevant to that keyword and again should not be more than 2 or three links per post. Never do more than 15 Forum/Blog submission per day. | 5. | Link Building Notes: Linkbuilding is very slow but effective task. There are three kind of link building. One Way, Reciprocal & Three Way. Same as above tasks you should use different keywords with different links for link building for any of the above types. Also make sure that the page where you are submitting your links is crawled by Searh Engines and has no more than 25 links on that page. Also if you are submitting the links to more than pne pages of the same link partner, check out if both the pages are hosted on different pages or not. Because when considering a link, search engine has the IP of both the links and if both are same, only one link will be considered. | 6. | Video Marketing Notes: This task does not get much waitage in competition but it has long life. Because when you create and submit the videos to different video portals, the video is listed there for months and years, so even if you stop your SEO efforts after certain timeframe, it works for you all the time. onsite SEO is very important: pay attention to your <title> tags use your keywords in the alt="" portion of all your <img> tags use <h2> header tags etc bold keywords sporatically (not in a spammy way) just some suggestions. blacksteallion's post is very helpful for you. I do have a few more things to add. 1. use or generate a google sitemap for your site, submit THAT to google as well 2. use some ping services to ping your site - this helps get you indexed faster (as long as you do not SPAM ie do it too much - be smart here) 3. do some keyword research - note that no matter how well you rank, if you do not have the right keywords, your efforts will be wasted 4. stick with ONE niche -don't make a general site 5. ensure you use/create only original content, don't use duplicate content Have fun and good luck. Well, SEO basically have 2 parts. 1. On-page SEO 2. Off-page SEO You have ti do on-page SEO when you are designing the site. Meta tags, keywords , H1 tags are part of onpage SEO. Then you have to start offpage SEO. Link building is a part of offpage SEO. So you have to start building links to your site. There are lot of free methods, such as; -Forum signatures -Blog comments -Directory submission -article submission -Social bookmarking

Hi, I am completely agree with blacksteallion, this is really a good advice, that you can follow them and you can learn better SEO techniques. Even you have to try for offpage SEO and onpage SEO. But don't try onpage SEO until and unless you do not perfect in offpage SEO. Because you told that you can't hire any SEO expert. Best of luck.
Make your pages semantic and Google friendly Correct use of TITLE & H1 tags help with this. Put your keywords in there, as well asin your META=DESCRIPTION tag, but don¡t stuff. Scatter your keywords and synonyms of them throughout your content. Always add ALT tags for images, put your keywords in there. Build up inbound links Much trickier, but ideally the links you should be aiming for are links that: Are on a page with relevent content to your site. Contain your keywords in the anchor text. Are well placed on that page and there are few other links on it. Are on a page that ranks well. Are on a page with a reasonable Page Rank. Comment on blogs, join forums, write and submit articles to directories, send out press releases about your product/service, make your own blog, submit to directories (but don't go nuts here, for the most part directories are pretty worthless), put some great content on your site that people might want to link to, make a viral video, start an internet hoax, be controversial, write a Squidoo lens, a wikipedia page, join social bookmarking sites and submit your pages. Just a few suggestions, there are many techniques for link building, find ones that work for you! Good luck
