SEO tips for Wordpress blogs

    So, i am trying to provide some SEO tips for you people since i now have good experience with SEO.

    So for now, lets start with Wordpress site. So you have a wordpress site set up and and then a theme installed in your site. COOL !!

    Now its time for some SEO ! I hope you have done your keywords research already ! So what you are going to do next is install this SEO plugin . One of the best plugin i have used so far and this is totally free.

    With this plugin you can assign your custom META TAGS for each pages, post, categories and your homepage. Also you can check the SEO points on each pages you optimize.

    Now add your google analytics and add your site to your google web master tool. While you are adding your site to the google web master tool make sure you choose the preferred domain.

    your domain www(dot)domainname(dot)com can be looked as

    www(dot)domainname(dot)com and domain(dot)com ,

    2 different version by google ! So choose the one you want as preferred and then 301 redirect the other version by some piece of code on .htaccess file. while selecting the preferred domain in webmaster tool google would want you to verify both www and non www version so do that.     Ok, now you have saved yourself with more problems ! :) relax !

    Now there is still a "may be" problem with "category" url in the wordpress url.

    domainname/"category"/youroriginalcat

    Some people do not like the default "category" URL in wordpress that's why i called it "may be" problem. For that here is the fix.

    So when other things has been done .. do generate the sitemap and then upload it to your FTP.

    And this should be good to go with your wordpress site.
