SEO Tips for PDF Document Website

    I am running Document Sharing website which has PDF documents. I am running this website for more than a year, but still the number of visitors are very limited.
    I believe the problem is in meta data; The keywords and Title meta tags are okay, but I have problem with description meta tag. From where Search engines read meta description of PDF document? From first page of PDF document or from properties of PDF document?

    Please advice me accordingly.
