Build solid content site with good internal linking, etc... 3. Get backlinks, submit to directories, join co-op... 4. setup any advertising/ppc campaigns After that you would be done except for the following continuous activities: Manage advertising/PPC campaign Manage link building campaign Update site content Am I leaving anything out? Anything to add/change? What else do you do on a continuous basis?

Will thanks for the link. I hadn't see that before. I guess my spin-off question to that is what do you do AFTER you've optimized your site? What is it you continue to do to make sure your site stays up in the rankings? Is it just the things I listed in my first post or is there more to it? I guess checking the competition for their advancement and such could be another thing?
