Hi the navigation bar arrangement doesn't affect the seo , I've tried before , anyway thanks for good tips.
So you say it is bad to use the same keyword in multiple headlines? Use it only once in the first header, and then don't use the keyword anywhere else on the page? I've heard that you should strive for a KW density of about 4% but this thread seems to disagree. What should I do?
A word for word copy. dsouza; You should always give credit and provide a link to the original article, otherwise people may think you wrote it, you wouldn't want that now would you Cheers James
i like the comment about not beliveing anything u read about seo. there are soooo many 'tips, tricks and quick fixes', but the only guarantee is to build a good site thats full of good quality useful content. Remember... all the engines want is to display the best results at the top, so if u build a good site u wont need to game the engines u will get to the top natuarally.
really helpful tips for newbies it's important that they follow some of these tips, especially about optimising each web page title and meta tags in general
Won't happen. Links can't be "negative." And someone usually can't just "sign you up" for an instant-traffic site; usually you need code or something extra. Whenever I try to make a nav bar on the right, the site looks crappy
Nothing. External "bad sources" should not have any effects on your site. Would be easy enough to bring someone down then.... Just don't join the bad linking yourself
If unknown bad external links are to be believed then I think we all together must start a portal with all illegal stuff that would go against the policy of Google and then get Google BANNED from its own search engine
css in an external file is better. You can avoid duplicate content by instead of copying articles or whatever - try doing an independent review on some. So you use the article content but inline review it. Almost worth writing a new article I suppose but I find it works and people dont get sick of your style of writing. I find some directory entries are useful. they have definately helped my sites just be sure to choose ones that are there for a purpose and not just for SEo. For regional sites they are particularly good. Social bookmarking really helps.
these tags work well for me but in the context of the content and other seo techniques, I think it is a combination of techniques that really works, good advice in the first post, dave
"Avoid using JavaScripts or JavaScript links. Spiders cannot crawl links in Java Script so its better that you don't use JavaScripts but if you must use it then make sure that you use a text link at the bottom of each page." You are more focusing on links in JS... What about javascript for Form validation purpose? Should we prefer Server side or Client side scripting for validation-- from SEO point of view? Any harm using javascript under Head tag -- (only for validation)? Someone?
Appreciate the info. I especially liked the info about the title tags, as I did not know about that before. For a beginner like me, these tips were very helpful. When you say no to the link exchange programs, how do other people here react when they exchange links with what appears to be another legitimate website, but one that does not update with the same frequency as your own site? Do you just drop them?
