SEO technique to rank 1st quicker than average, would this work?

I’m seeking advice from knowledgeable SEO members if this would be a good start or not, or if there is a lot more to it than this.

    Find Niche

Find keywords (preferably two or three combination phrase, less competitive) related to niche in Google ad words with 3000 or more searches per month, $1 or more average CPC

Search keywords in Google and once the results come back check the first ten websites on the first page of Google for their rank, to see if they rank 0 or 1.
(bottom line if they rank 0 or 1 it’s easier to overtake them since they’re not SEO ready but they show up in the first page because the keyword is not very competitive)

Once you find your keyword (s) combination, create a domain or blog and include those (keywords) in the URL.

Post content and include keywords in the first sentence, about 10 to 15% inside content and last sentence.

The point is to make the site content relevant for SEO purposes, quality relevant content would be second priority.

Backlinking (I’m not sure about this, how many quality backlinks would a site need to start getting ranked?
(Again from what I read the technique above would make it quicker since there is less competition from rank 0 and 1)

    Thanks

    Ruben

You will loose interest very fast in your site me thinks. Why not build a site in something that you are vaguely passionate about? First checking to see if its vaguely monetizable?

I see what you’re saying but if you find your niche on something you like and then go from there I think it can still be done, for instance I like Forex, I’m not an expert but I know something about where I would be interested in writing about so I found a set of keywords and I’m currently testing it to see if it works, so I think it can still be done on something you like but the questions is, is it a good base?

    Thanks for the reply

Yes it is. I just created a new blog recently and am already in the top 10 on google for my keywords doing what you are talking about. Well, not exactly but very similar.

I think we need to write something about which we can handle for a long term

How long did it take you to the top 10?? Can you tell me what was the major difference between what I described and your method?

    Thanks

Yeah I think it has to be something one would be comfortable writing about, having to SEO your post plus the content can be time consuming but I think it's worth it since there wouldn't be too much emphasis on driving traffic to the site.
