    Hi all,

I have started doing seo for the extension .biz, but most of the experts said .com only give preference.

By doing seo for .biz it will support or not, kindly give your suggestions.

    Thanks,
    R. Hari Babu

TLD Extension is completely irrelevant for SEO purposes. People recommend .com because a. it is more widely recognized (i.e. people will be more likely to click .com from google), and b. for type in traffic (how many people type in boobies.com as opposed to boobies.biz?)

.com is one of the Generic top-level domain (gTLD) available for use worldwide from (.com, .net and .org)

From a long time net surfers are more likely to type .com in front of your domain name, if they do not remember your extension. So you might end up with free traffic on your site just because of the domain extension .com.

While the .biz may be just as easy as a .com to seo, id try to find a .com just for the fact that it is widely known and will more then likely get clicked upon moreso then a .biz

But then again if its ranking well, its ranking well.

TLD makes no difference to the search engine and how your site gets ranked. Their is also a myth out that Google does not look at .info's the same way as they do the other TLD's due to them being used to spam the search engines. Just a myth, no fact's to actually prove it.

How many .biz vs .com's do you see ranking?

How many of each are registered. You can draw your own conclusions, and you can assume that TLD's are not factors. But the bottom line is only the engineers at the search engines truly know if a TLD is receiving ANY weight in the search algorithm.

    Agree with this.

For me, they have equal weight in search engines. The ranking depends on how you optimize your site and how you link build it. :D

extension is useful for geo targeting but in terms of keyword ranking it doesn't matter whether what's the extension of your keywords but on how you optimized your site.

TLD is not very important while doing SEO activity for that website only the thing important is how you do the SEO work for that website and promote that website online.

Although it is true that the TLD is not of the main importance for SEO...it should be better to have a .com or .net domains

Actually the TLD does come into play in determining keyword rankings for the local search aspects.

If you are a .co.uk site selling cars in the UK, you will typically out rank any other TLD such as .com or .net...and vice versa you likely will not rank well on the .com side of Google.

As noted above .info can be filtered from scoring well in SERPs just as easily as domains registered for one year or less.

Of course keyword competition and how well sites in the category are SEOd will have different results to the above.

Lastly TLD is something your visitors may look at... and they may not be comfortable with a .biz or .info or .us etc.
