Someone I know was accused of a crime that I'm confident they did not do. Now when someone (such as a potential employer) searches for her name they see a news story and a department of Justice listing covering the arrest. This creates obvious employment issues. Can anybody think of easy ways to create quality pages that will rank well? Basically I'm looking at making ~20 pages of content (hour+ each) in addition to some time building links. What good ways can you think of to perhaps substitute an optimized long forum posting or blog entry?
Sign up at blogspot, blogger, weebly, etc. and create one or two page blog posts about your person. Use their name in every post. Create a squiddo page for them, create a wordpress blog on a purchased domain. Get a number of sites out there with their name in each one, then build links to them all using the name as anchor text. It should not be hard to rank well for a persons name (unless they share it with someone famous). Just build as much content as you can in as many places, then build some links to all of that content.
It's not hard, but realizing I have to do it another 17 times or so means I have to put some time and work into it. I was hoping somebody would give me a suggestion like opening a flickr account optimized for her name (which currently is about #35). 0.75 hours typing, + 0.5 hour locating & registering + 2 hours link building * 17 = 72 working hours. (@$60 going SEO rate hour = $4,320 I probably won't get to bill for.)
