its the job of crap education ministers... how them self might not even know what online marketing is ... forget about introducing SEO then.

Sorry, I don't get you. Are you trying to say it's the responsibility of education minisiters to teach SEO in colleges/unis ?

An SEO course wouldn't be very helpful overall I feel, at the most it would be a push towards the SEO field.

What would they teach!? SEO 101 style stuff and maybe a bit more, but if a search engine updates, then the course gets screwed up, the teacher will have to be extremely upto date and the majority of the course will be spent on forums anyway ;) lol

I don't think SEO should be the part of Education. One should excel himself in this field and try to find out the way and new ideas. Because SEO is not a static course to which anybody can learn in a short period of time and apply it as he or she learned. To be a SEO we have to think dynamicaly and try to learn our Target Market and SE'S algorithm.

that is true but one thing is that if student will learn basic SEO things than they will find a way easily and do this things fast.

Yeah well said mate. You still need a good product/service to sell at the end of the day, regardless of how well you can SEO a site.

i cant understand, why are u thinking like that? in india there are so many poeple who can easily learn up to this level.and i m not telling that stop elementry education and start it, both things are ok at their own place. and as u know that india developed in this factor and banglore, hydrabad and pune and so many cities are the best example of it.

I would hate to see SEO covered at the university I attended... we would be learning how to optimize your site for 1994... and yes, I am bitter about what I "learned" in computer science at my university for the money I spent... oh well. That's my two bits.
