Static URL is more preferred than dynamic.

Just to be clear, the example you gave is a subdirectory, not a subdomain.

    A subdirectory would be -
    http://www.example.com/howtobuyccthis

    A subdomain would be -
    http://howtobuyccthis.example.com

Search engines treat subdirectories as a part of the main URL and associate the two together. While subdomains are treated as separate sites from the root domain. Subdomains have to establish their own identity and can not leverage any of the strength of the root domain.

Now for your question, if you were to switch your URL's from http://www.example/cont=1001/.php&a...3f64562c6d158c6 to http://www.example/howtobuyccthis, you would definitely see a SEO benefit, for a number of reasons. First you are using a descriptive naming convention as opposed to a numbering system which contains no keywords and means nothing to Search Engines. Also you are eliminating the use of variables and in the eyes of the search engines placing the content closer to the root of the domain...all good SEO practices.

    Hope that helps!
