Hi, I run a PR5 health related website with loads of traffic, but I'm trying to target local markets in the US and Canada. My latest strategy is 1500 dynamically produced and content unique landing pages to draw in traffic. it's mysterious how in some large markets we can rank in the top 3 and in other smaller cities we can’t even break into page 1. So, I'm looking for an seo specialist who can analyze the source code and help these pages rank higher. Can anyone make a recommendation? Thanks!!:)

landing pages are a thing of the past, google hates them. Read around in this forum to get an idea of what is "in" at the moment.

How long since you implemented this strategy, and how are you doing it via subdomains or subpages?

I have noticed lately localized results with low volumes of results are taking quite some time to update, and larger markets are updating fairly quickly and respond within days to SEO changes.

This certainly fits with what you are seeing, so it may be just a matter of more time before you see positive results.
